Day 1: Tuesday, November 8th, 2016: Amsterdam – Paramaribo:

After arriving at the international airport J.A. Pengel Zanderij you will be met by the driver and an employee of Oetsi tours to take you to the heart Krasnapolsky Hotel Paramaribo. Here you will stay during your nights in Paramaribo.

Day 2: Wednesday, November 9th, 2016: Paramaribo City Tour:

To get used to the atmosphere, the environment and the climate we start the tour with a city tour through the capital. The highlights such as Fort Zeelandia, the wooden cathedral, the Jewish Synagogue next to the Mosque, Independence Square and visit the market with its exotic fruits and vegetables. The following afternoon is spent at leisure. Overnight in Paramaribo

Day 3: Thursday, November 10th, 2016: Commewijne plantation:

We are going to the Suriname River in a traditional tent boat and first spotting dolphins. In the district Commewijne we visit plantation Rust en Werk where there is also provided lunch. Wort then visited the open air museum at Fort Nieuw Amsterdam. Overnight in Paramaribo.

Day 4: Friday, November 11th, 2016: Paramaribo:

Nice rest for a day. At the hotel’s swimming pool, walking through the city or outdoor cafés, shopping or another tour? Its your choice!

Day 5: Saturday, November 12th, 2016: Santigron:

After about a half hour drive from Paramaribo you approach the Maroon village Santigron. After consuming a drink, the guide ready for an extensive tour of the village. You will see many sights during the tour and enjoy a lunch, then take a walk to the river. The boat is ready to transport you to another Maroon village called Haarlem In the late afternoon you will experience a cultural dance and you will be get the opportunity to buy products of the residents.

After a delicious BBQ and dance party, it’s time to rest in simple lodges.

Day 6: Sunday, November 13th, 2016: Santigron – Paramaribo:

A jungle tour led by an expert guide to the indigenous village of Pikin Poika is scheduled. After lunch we leave for Paramaribo and you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 7: Monday, November 14th, 2016: Paramaribo – Nieuw Nickerie:

This time the journey to the west. The first stop is the town Groningen in the Saramacca district. This place is set about 150 years ago by immigrants from the eponymous Dutch city. If we cross the Coppenameriver  we have arrived the district Coronie. Here it was mainly English and Scots who built the first plantations.

If we continue to see another familiar name: Wageningen, located in the district of Nickerie, the center of the Surinamese rice. Is driven along the many rice fields, and the end point today is the nation’s second-city, Nieuw Nickerie where we overnight at a hotel.

Day 8: Tuesday, November 15th, 2016: Nickerie – Bigi Pan:

After breakfast we visit the Nickerie market and the bus brings us to the departure point for a trip to the Bigi Pan Nature area. This is a typical ‘wetland’ landscape with creeks, mangroves, wet and dry wetlands. This area has more than 120 species of birds, including the red ibis, osprey and terns. Here we go spend the night at a lodge Stephanie water in simple double rooms with toilet and shower shared. Where you can relax from the exhausting days in a hammock .. lovely evening it is time to spot caiman.

Day 9: Wednesday, November 16th, 2016: Bigi Pan – Paramaribo:

After a beautiful sunrise (weather permitting of course) and a delicious breakfast you can enjoy the beautiful nature. You can be yourself fishing, kayaking, read a book or even enjoy the scenery around you. After lunch we will be brought back to the jetty where the bus is waiting to take you to Paramaribo and where you can check in again in your hotel

Day 11: Friday, November 18th, 2016: African culture in the Bush Bush:

In search of the jungle. Our impressive journey south begins with a bus tour of 3 hours to the village Atjoni. This is also the mooring area for all the boats coming from the jungle of Suriname and the farthest place you can reach by car. We are looking for our boat and take a ride of about 45 minutes to Anaula Jungle Resort. After checking into your lodge you have the opportunity to explore the island.

Day 12: Saturday, November 19th, 2016: village walk and jungle trek:

Today we get into the canoe and we go to Gajuba and Laduani, during the village tour we get acquainted with the culture of the local Maroon population. They are also known as Maroons and descendants of former runaway slaves. Furthermore, there is this day an exciting jungle tour on the program.

Day 13: Sunday, November 20th, 2016 Anaula:

Today a lovely relaxing day in the jungle you can swim in the pool, explore the island or, if possible, attend a church service

Day 14: Monday, November 21th, 2016 Anaula – Berg en Dal:

In the morning you have some free time to fill out at their discretion. Immediately after lunch we go back to Atjoni where we take the bus to Berg en Dal Nature Resort. You will stay in comfortable jungle lodge

Day 15: Tuesday, November 22th, 2016 Jodensavanne:

After breakfast, we take a walk to the graves of the founders of the plantation Berg en Dal. After lunch we drive to the Jodensavanne. On this ancient Jewish settlement can still see the ruins of one of the oldest Synagogue and many well-preserved gravestones. After the tour we return to Paramaribo where we stay in the hotel.

Day 16: Wednesday, November 23th, 2016: Warapakreek:

During this trip you will hear the history of plantation Bakkie. Old sugar mills in the jungle, wells and locks, all that you will experience on this tour. A small museum will surprise you.

Day 17: Thursday, November 24th, 2016 Paramaribo (day off):

To this day, for example make a wonderful bike ride to inter alia the Peperpot an old plantation where now developed a beautiful park with lots of different birds.

Day 18: Friday, November 25th, 2016 Free day Srefedenci:

It is the independence day of Suriname. You can experience the parades, stalls and lots of music, it is 41 years since they became independent from the Netherlands.

Day 19: Saturday, November 26th, 2015 Paramaribo – Zanderij:

The morning is still free for leisure. Then transfer to the Paramaribo airport and check in for the return journey to the Netherlands.

Day 20: Sunday, November 27th, 2015: Amsterdam:

Arrival at Schiphol Airport.
